Love yourself this
Valentine’s
Day

Hi Reader

As a caregiver, you pour so much love and energy into those around you, ensuring their comfort, wellbeing, and happiness. But on Valentine’s Day, I want to remind you of someone just as deserving of love – YOU!

Caring for others is a wonderful act of love, but it’s easy to forget that you also need care, rest, and kindness. Remember, you are amazing!

Here are some tips to help you prioritise your wellbeing:

  • Recognise all that you do
We often don’t feel like we’re important, but you are! Carers do so much, and save the UK economy £182B a year. That is colossal – so take it easy on yourself.
  • Prioritise your wellbeing
Whether it’s taking five minutes for deep breathing, having a quiet cup of tea, or taking a short walk, find a moment just for yourself.
  • Speak to yourself with kindness
Replace self-criticism with the same encouragement you’d give a dear friend. It doesn't make for a great day being mean to yourself.

Also, the Carers UK Annual Conference is coming up on Tuesday 28 April, 10am-4pm. There will be many talks and ways to connect, click here to reserve your spot.
